Feast Bistro Café serves up indigenous comfort food
It hasn't even been open for two months but already Feast Bistro Café in Winnipeg is getting lots of attention for their unique menu which features indigenous cuisine — including Indian tacos, bison chili and pickerel sliders.
"Here we are in Canada, the land of the First Nations people, and there's really no restaurants … and there needs to be more."
As the positive reviews continue to roll in, Bruneau-Guenther hopes the success of her restaurant will inspire other indigenous chefs to open their own restaurants.
But for now, Bruneau-Guenther just wants her customers to leave full and happy.
"When people eat your food, and they love your food it just brings a sense of comfort into the atmosphere … and into my heart as well," said Bruneau-Guenther.
"It's great, I love it."
