The Music That Changed Your World: Episode 2
In our first show of the year, we launched a new series with Robert Harris called "Music That Changed Your World."
It is intended as a companion to our series of a few years ago, "Music That Changed The World."
But this time, we want to hear from you, our audience, about pieces of music that were central to you, that changed the kind of person you are, or created the person you are — that left a deep mark on you.
Robert and I started the ball rolling talking about our own such albums. Mine was "Jazz at Oberlin," by the Dave Brubeck Quartet. Robert's was the original cast album of a Broadway show called "Wonderful Town."
We have been inundated with listener responses, and we have featured some of your letters — and your music — on the show ever since.
Robert is back this week to continue the discussion, and to play a few more of your choices. On this week's show, we feature Silver Wings and Golden Rings by Billie-Jo Spears, Blue Skies by Pete Seeger, What's Going On by Marvin Gaye and music by Tchaikovsky
