When the Moon Comes: An ode to the sport that has brought Canada together

This has been an emotional week across Canada.

The tragedy that struck the Humboldt Broncos last weekend has hit people hard, but it's also brought the country together.

Early in the week, the hashtag #PutYourSticksOut took hold, and all around the world people left hockey sticks on their front porch as a tribute to the team. 

On Thursday, people once again paid tribute by wearing team jerseys to work and to school.

The picture book When the Moon Comes, which was a finalist for the Governor General's Literary Awards, tells the story of a group of children waiting for the full moon, when the ice will be hard enough for them to skate and play hockey on the local pond. 

This week on Day 6, author Paul Harbridge reads an excerpt from his book in a tribute to the Humboldt Broncos, hockey, and the immense outpouring of love and support that flooded Canada this week.
