Should I Read It? Becky Toyne on City on Fire

Day 6 books columnist Becky Toyne is back with "Should I Read It". Today she reviews one of the most buzzed-about books of the season: "City on Fire" by Garth Risk Hallberg. It's a mammoth nine-hundred page portrait of interlocking lives in the dark days of a bygone era of New York City. Set in 1976 and 1977, this is a tale of punk rockers, plutocrats, and aspiring novelists with a back-drop of urban decay. Day 6 books columnist Becky Toyne joins Brent to answer the big question: should you read it? We have two copies of "City on Fire" to give away. To be entered in our random draw, send an email to [email protected] with the word FIRE in the subject line. Be sure to include your mailing address. We'll pick two winners at random before next week's show.
