Return of the Cossacks

As the conflict in Ukraine escalates, there has been a resurgence in the power and prominence of the Cossacks in Vladimir Putin's Russia. Back in February, Cossacks made headlines during the Sochi games when they interrupted a video shoot for punk group, Pussy Riot, attacking the members with their traditional leather whips. Brent spoke with freelance journalist Dimiter Kenarov, who encountered the Cossacks while reporting in Crimea and to Ellen Barry, the New York Times' former Moscow Bureau Chief, who has reported on the Cossack resurgence.
