Far from the farm, Albertan carves out opera niche in New York City
Albertan Royce Vavrek has become a sought-after opera librettist, and his latest work is about one of America's most famous presidents.

When Royce Vavrek was asked to write the words to an opera about JFK, he delved into researching a man he barely knew anything about.

Royce grew up on a farm near Grande Prairie, Alberta and has been writing stories for as long as he can remember; but as a Canadian, he didn't learn much about the famous President.
Royce talks to Candy about his love of opera and how he hopes to turn a drama from his own family into an opera some day.
