Steeves family goes for Guinness World Record for largest family gathering with same surname
Before discovering his family history, Gary Steeves felt that his life was lacking meaning and purpose.

Gary Steeves has spent most of his life learning about his deep-rooted family history.
"Something's really important here in life and it's about attachments," Gary told Candy. He has traced his own family history all the way to a couple in 18th-century Germany. Now, he estimates there are approximately 200,000 descendants from the couple.
He's organized a Steeves family celebration in New Brunswick.
He hopes the event will beat the Guinness World Record for the largest family gathering with the same surname.
