As It Happens: The Friday Edition
Part One
Ukraine: Long-range rockets
Ukraine officials say they won't use US rockets to hit targets inside Russia. But a former Prime Minister of Ukraine says that may be what's required to end Vladimir Putin's invasion.
Pop Tarts lawyer
A recent class-action over the legitimacy of Chocolate Fudge Pop Tarts is thrown out -- but one lawyer will keep filng the food-related lawsuits that have become his bread and butter.
78-year-old high school diploma
When I say he's a high school senior, I mean he's a high school senior. An outstanding library fine prevented Ted Sams from graduating with his class -- but 60 years later, he's finally received his diploma.
Part Two
Gun control: Republican
There's yet another desperate push for gun control measures in the U.S. -- but a former Republican lawmaker warns it's an uphill battle. And he should know, because it's a battle he lost.
Queer summer camp
While lawmakers across the United States push anti-trans legislation, one Missouri dad responds by helping create a summer camp to celebrate queer kids -- including his son.
Part Three
Encore: Hayley Wickenheiser
Hayley Wickenheiser is one of the greatest hockey players in Canadian history. Then she retired from hockey and became a doctor. And then she wrote a book. Last October, Carol Off talked to her about that book, "Over the Boards: Lessons from the Ice" -- which compiles wisdom she picked up in both her careers. And it happens to apply even if you're not an Olympic-medalist-turned physician.
