The city of Kitchener held a special meeting Monday proposing inclusionary zoning around major transit hubs. That's where the government mandates that new multi-unit buildings set aside some space for affordable housing. Dawn Parker, a Professor at the University of Waterloo's school of planning, says what the city is proposing needs to be better. Hal Jaeger, a member of a group called Inclusionary Zoning Now KW, says the plan is not great, but the city desperately needs some form of inclusionary zoning.
