Regina Pats lose in OT of Game 6 WHL championship, Thunderbirds win cup
The Pats had hopes to tie up the series for a Game 7 in Regina
The Regina Pats lost 4-3 in overtime to the Seattle Thunderbirds Sunday night, losing a crucial Game 6 and their last chance of winning the WHL Championship.
The team had lost Game 5 of their best-of-seven series 7-4 Friday night, giving Seattle a 3-2 series lead.
Going into Sunday's game at the Brandt Centre, the Pats needed to tie up the series for a Game 7 in Regina, but lost.

The Thunderbirds are taking home their first WHL championship in the franchise's 40-year history.
This was the first time the Pats had played for the league title since 1984.
