Organizers expect big crowds at Gay Pride parade

Organizers of Vancouver's Gay Pride parade are expecting a record turnout this weekend. The 20th annual parade comes after a year of legal victories for B.C.'s gays and lesbians.

In February, B.C. became the first province to apply family-support laws to same-sex couples.

Last month, Attorney General Ujjal Dosanjh introduced legislation giving gay and lesbian public service workers the same pension rights as heterosexuals.

The Vancouver Pride Society hopes the parade will attract more than 100,000 people.
