A CBC basement might not seem like the most obvious place for a jam space, but a new film recorded in CBC North's office in Yukon shows it might actually be the perfect place.

Beneath the Broadcast is a film that features nine performances from genre-spanning Whitehorse acts including Sputnik, Jona Barr, Paris Pick & the Pricks, Cryptozoologists, Calla Kinglit, Local Boy, the Sweeties, Groan Boy and Soda Pony. Each band is set up in a different part of the CBC North basement, and over 45 minutes you'll get a sweet tour of the memorabilia-laden area while sitting in on each performance.

The film is a collaboration between local filmmaker Brendan Preston and Yukon-based organizations Something Shows and Big Boat Records. Whether you're into old CBC gear from the 1950s or looking for bands to add to your playlist, Beneath the Broadcast is the Venn diagram for you.
