Excitement builds for Grammy Award-winning artist Nelly Furtado's new studio album, 7, set to be released on Sept. 20.

Furtado released the album's second single, "Corazón," on July 12. It's a celebratory global pop song featuring Colombian band Bomba Estéreo.

In a statement, Furtado explained that 7 is the culmination of four years of "artistic rediscovery," after years of focusing her energy on motherhood.

She spoke with CBC Music's Odario Williams about traveling to Colombia and creating "Corazón" with Bomba Estéreo's Liliana "Li" Saumet, who's also a mother. "Sometimes you just need to meet other people who are in the same journey as you," Furtado shared with Williams.
