The Iqaluit-based rapper performs songs from his debut album
FxckMr is a young Iqaluit-based artist who has a lot to say. He goes by Mister, named after his late Aunt Missy who died by suicide. And on his new album, 1997, he tackles this very subject.
Atop eerie metal-infused trap beats, Mister boldly raps about his own personal demons and the epidemic of suicides in his hometown. While many are hesitant to broach these matters, FxckMr is fearless.
We invited him to our studio to perform songs from 1997, released on Sept. 20.
You can listen to the entire live session on CBC Listen, and you can watch his performance right here.
