Is your music class making a video for the 2022 Canadian Music Class Challenge? If so, have you registered your music class? Selected your song? Learned to perform it almost as well (or better) than the original? Have you created a video of the performance?

If you've answered "yes" to all of the above, then starting Oct. 5, music teachers may now submit their 2022 Canadian Music Class Challenge performance videos to CBC Music, using the instructions provided upon registration.

This year's contest has already gotten off to a fast start, with hundreds of music classes from across the country signing up. So far, the top three most popular song choices are "Nikamo" by Burnstick, "Heart of Gold" by Neil Young and "Paper Heart" by Jeremy and Jazzy.

Submitted videos will be posted live to the world on the CBC Music YouTube channel as we receive them. The deadline to submit your video(s) is Nov. 23. The winning classes will be announced in December and will receive a wide range of amazing prizes. Thanks for participating!

And while there is no prizing or judging advantage to submitting your video early, we do often select and feature early entries on CBC Music, CBC Radio and CBC-TV.

We've also created our own Canadian Music Teachers | CBC Music Canadian Music Class Challenge group on Facebook. If you're a music teacher, we'd love for you to join the group and keep in touch with music educators from across the country.

Good luck and have fun! If you have any questions, let us know at [email protected].
