A quick and thrifty way to infuse their little hideaway with a whole lotta cuteness.

Here's what you'll need:

  • A drop sheet
  • 1 piece of 2 x 4 wood, cut into 4 pieces (2 that are 11" tall and 2 that are 4" tall)
  • Paint brush
  • Paint, in colour(s) of your choice
  • Scissors
  • A stuffed animal (that you're willing to part with)
  • Hot glue gun

Here's how to do it:

  1. Lay out your drop sheet on a flat surface for painting.

  2. Arrange the pieces of wood on your drop sheet and paint the front and sides in the colour(s) of your choice. Let dry completely. Then, flip the wood pieces over and paint the back of all four. Let dry.

  3. Take your stuffed animal and gently cut it in half with your scissors. Remove any excess stuffing that is falling out.

  4. Once wood is all dry, hot glue one of your short pieces to the bottom of one of your long pieces, creating an "L" shape. Repeat for the other two pieces so you have two L shapes.

  5. Hot glue around the cut opening of the front portion of the stuffed animal and carefully attach it to the outside of backwards L ( _I).

  6. Hot glue around the cut opening of the back end of the animal and carefully attach it to the outside of the regular L.

  7. Fill with your little one's favourite books and place on top of their bookshelf or dresser!
