After a long season of muted tones and cozy neutrals, it's finally time to say goodbye to winter and embrace a springtime palette. Pretty pastels and bold florals liven up decor, fashion and food during this time of year, and we see no reason why nails should be left out of all the fun. So nail artist Rita Remark stopped by The Goods to share some super simple, but oh-so-fun nail art for the new season. Here are three budget-friendly manicures that are perfect for Easter, or any festive celebration you've got coming up.

Cute cracked egg pattern

Here's what you'll need:

  • Nail base coat
  • Two shades of polish (yellow and white are classic choices, but feel free to mix it up!)
  • Top coat polish
  • Scotch tape
  • Cuticle scissors

Here's how to do it:

1. Apply a base coat and let it dry. Then apply two coats of a yellow polish and wait for it to dry completely.

2. Using mini cuticle scissors, snip small pointed shapes of different heights and widths in your scotch tape.

3. When you're pleased with the shape, stick the tape onto the nails, leaving the tip area

bare. Smooth it out to remove air bubbles.

4. Polish the tips of each nail in a white polish. Before it dries, slowly remove the tape to reveal the cracked shell tip.

5. Finish with a topcoat!

Tie dye eggs

Here's what you'll need:

  • Tinfoil
  • Nail base coat
  • 4 shades of polish
  • Top coat polish
  • Tweezers
  • Cosmetic wedges
  • Clear nail polish for top coat

Here's how to do it:

1. Apply a base coat and let it dry. Then apply two coats of white nail polish. Give this layer a few minutes to dry.

2. Rip a cosmetic wedge into little pieces that can easily be picked up with tweezers.

3. On a piece of tinfoil (your palette) add a few drops of each of the three accent colours.

4. With a piece of the wedge in your tweezers, dab it in the first colour and then directly onto your nail in a random pattern. Follow this step with all three colours.

5. Finish with a topcoat!

Festive stripe

Here's what you'll need:

  • Nail base coat
  • 1 polish colour
  • Top coat polish
  • Clear nail polish for top coat
  • Scissors
  • Holographic decorative grass

Here's how to do it:

1. Apply a base coat and let it dry. Then apply two coats of your desired shade.

2. While the second coat is still tacky, lightly press a strand of decorative grass onto the nail working from one side to the other. Once secure, trim the grass to fit the nail and press down on either side to ensure a snug hold.

3. Finish with a topcoat!
