We all love making use of those neglected items that are hanging around the house, and that shouldn't change just because it's the holidays! Save money on expensive store-bought bags, boxes and wrapping paper by making your own wrapping at home. Here are 4 easy and creative DIY solutions that will up your gift wrap game:
Paint-splattered gift box

What you'll need:
- White box with lid
- Black paint
- 3" paint brush
- Decorative ribbon
Directions:
- Splash randomly on lid and sides of box until you achieve desired look. Let dry.
- Add decorative ribbon.
Holiday stamp wrapping paper

What you'll need:
- Plain craft paper
- Lint roller
- Craft foam
- Scissors
Directions:
- Cut out desired shapes using craft foam.
- Ensure there is a clean sheet on the lint roller. Adhere to lint roller.
- Dab paint onto shapes on lint roller.
- Roll over top of craft paper in desired pattern.
Duct tape gift bag

What you'll need:
- Duct tape in colours of your choice
- Hole punch or grommets
- Ribbon
- Non-stick scissors (like Westcott)
- Adhesive 'alphabet' stickers
Directions:
- Cut two long strips of duct tape the same length. Adhere together.
- Continue to add to the strips, adding one at a time on either side until you've built up the desired width of the gift bag.
- Fold in half, and run each side through a sewing machine using and oversized zigzag stitch. Repeat over original stitching to get a more defined look.
- Using hole punch or grommets, make two holes at the top of the gift bag opening.
- Close gift bag with ribbon.
- Adorn gift bag using adhesive stickers, with recipients initial.
Graffiti gift box

What you'll need:
- Plain cardboard moving boxes
- Stencils of various types
- Spray paint in colours of your choice
- Spray glue
Directions:
- In a well ventilated area, lay down a drop cloth. Use a light coat of spray glue to coat the back of a stencil. Adhere to box.
- Spray in desired colour and remove stencil immediately. Allow to dry for a few minutes.
- Using a different stencil and a different colour of spray paint, add new stencil to a different area of the box and spray. Continue to fill box with varied patterns and colours until you get the desired look.
