5 New neutrals for your kitchen
Trends in kitchens are ever-evolving! We are seeing shades of neutrals popping up everywhere in kitchen cabinets. Designer Olivia Botrie stopped by to share the hottest on-trend colours for your kitchen cabinetry. Here are Olivia's 5 favourite neutrals:
White
This shade of white is Sherwin Williams Extra White 7006.
Simply put, white is classic and always in style. The colour will remain popular, but the style of cabinetry may change – for example, slab door vs. shaker door.
Light grey
Behr Silver Drop 790C-2 is a gorgeous shade of light grey.
Light grey is a perfect neutral. Here's a design trick: If you want the cabinets to recede, paint your kitchen walls the same colour.
Light green
Farrow & Ball Mizzle is the perfect addition to any kitchen.
Green is defintiely a neutral! It has a timeless quality. Trying to decide on a shade? Just remember that any green with more brown in it reads as neutral.
Grey
This stunning shade of grey is Benjamin Moore Kendall Charcoal HC-166.
In a small kitchen such as this one, the shade of grey reads as warmer grey and gives it a historic feel. This colour also pairs well with brass.
Navy
This beautiful shade of blue is Farrow & Ball Hague Blue.
Navy is the everywhere right now. And for good reason – it goes with everything! Just think of men's suiting. Navy gives the effect of using black, but the sheen in this shade of navy gives the kitchen and its cabinetry more dimension. Greens, pinks and lighter blues are all colours that pair well with navy.
And once you've settled on a paint colour, you'll need to accessorize. All of Olivia's favourite kitchen cabinetry colours are perfectly complimented by wood accessories.
