10 top red carpet looks from the SAG Awards

Held this past Saturday night in Los Angeles, the 2024 Screen Actors Guild Awards were the first award show to stream live on Netflix — which meant no commercials or breaks in between the 13 television and film awards presented. 

It was an evening of actors celebrating actors. Some of Hollywood's biggest stars came out to support and connect with peers at the first SAG Awards since the guild's lengthy strike ended last November. 

Here are the ten best looks from the SAG Awards red carpet.

Greta Lee

Lee, who works with fashion stylist Danielle Goldberg, has consistently been a sartorial star this awards season. For the SAG Awards, she wore a textured, off-the-shoulder column dress from New York-based label The Row. Again, Lee doesn't wear any jewelry, but this might well be one of the best uses of opera gloves that we've seen on the red carpet in a long time. 

Nicole Beharie

Pink and red have been a winning fashion combination for several years now, and The Morning Show's Beharie looked great in a floor-length, strapless gown from Canadian eveningwear label Greta Constantine's Spring 2024 collection. Featuring voluminous sleeves and a sleek train, the bold look shone from every angle.  

Margot Robbie

Robbie, who will be releasing a photo book next month of her Barbie world tour fashion looks with stylist Andrew Mukamal, wore an over-the-top — but also fabulous and character-appropriate — asymmetrical, pink and black dress by Schiaparelli last night. The black Manolo Blahnik pumps are a classic, but it would have been fun to see footwear that was a little bolder, to really complement the sculptural dress.

Chris Perfetti

The Abbott Elementary actor wore Jimmy Choo shoes and a brown suit from Los Angeles-based label Grayscale. The suit jacket is cropped to just above the waist, highlighting his oversized bowtie and black cummerbund, and the pearl floral lapel brooch adds a sweet touch. 

Ali Wong

The SAG Award winner and comedian wore a dramatic Iris van Herpen haute couture look. The custom, surreal Architectonics gown is definitely a bold choice — the collection was inspired by "the future of floating cities and the concept of bionic design" — but there's something admirable about Wong going all out for her red carpet moment.  

Carey Mulligan

Also styled by Andrew Mukamal, Mulligan shone (literally!) in Fred Leighton jewelry and a strapless, haute couture Giorgio Armani Privé gown. The minimalist, molten metallic look works well with the actress's short, blunt bob.   

Storm Reid 

The University of Southern California student and Emmy-winning actress wore red Christian Louboutin pumps and a custom dress by French fashion label Balmain to the awards show. The intricate, three-dimensional floral beading on the gown made it a standout. 

Lily Gladstone

The Killers of the Flower Moon star wore a red, fringed Giorgio Armani Privé dress to accept the awards for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role last night. She also wore a beautiful pair of custom beaded earrings by a fellow Montanan, Indigenous designer Molly Murphy-Adams. 

Da'Vine Joy Randolph

The SAG Award winner, who works with celebrity stylists Wayman + Micah (who also did an incredible job with Taraji P. Henson and Colman Domingo yesterday), wore a beautiful, draped satin Valdrin Sahiti gown with floral-like ruffles at the sleeves. 

Tyler James Williams

A cool, monochromatic suit always does the trick, and Abbott Elementary's Williams looked stylish in his blue double-breasted suit with pleated trousers by LA-based fashion label Amiri. Styled with a sheer, matching knit top, the effect is effortless and not fussy.
