Your horoscope for the week ahead: The New Moon Total Solar Eclipse will bring positive change

There are some powerful astrological developments coming in this week ahead. It starts with the New Moon Total Eclipse of the Sun in Sagittarius on Monday, December 14. Solar Eclipses are peculiar times when the Sun darkens, and time seems to stop momentarily. To witness the rapidly moving dark shadow, you'll have to be in southern South America, namely Chile and Argentina or in a boat in the Pacific or Atlantic Oceans. 

It will scorch an important marker in your personal chart. It's the only Total Eclipse of the Sun of 2021. It precedes the Jupiter-Saturn Great Conjunction in Aquarius on the Winter Solstice of December 21. These conjunctions come once-every-twenty years, but this one is the most important in 200 hundred years. They have been meeting mostly in earth signs since the early 1800s, but now for the first time they meet in Aquarius. Say hello to a new 200-year era that will take the emphasis off the material.     

Total Solar Eclipses fall on New Moons which is the time of new beginnings. In this case, though, it's advisable to wait until at least the day after if you are going to launch something. A Mercury trine Mars will give you an extra push.

On Wednesday, December 16, Saturn enters Aquarius with Jupiter hot on his heels joining him in Aquarius on Saturday, December 19. So, by the end of the week both planets will be joined together in the Water Bearer and the ruler of technology. They are a mere three days from their conjunction. Look in the southwestern sky around 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. The bright star is Jupiter. He's closing the gap on dimmer Saturn. 

The week rounds off with Mercury's superior conjunction with the Sun. Mercury, or Hermes as he was known in ancient Greece, will have reached the far side of the Sun. Within a few days he will appear as an Evening Star at sunset and begin his journey back toward Earth with his merchant ship laden with merchandise for you. And then on Sunday he enters reliable and responsible Capricorn.
