Known for his killer deadpan delivery and clever punchlines, Nick Nemeroff brings it all home to audiences on his new album The Pursuit of Comedy Has Ruined My Life.

Nemeroff, who hails from Montreal, has previously appeared on Conan and has recorded sets for Just for Laughs, The Winnipeg Comedy Festival and more.

While recently decamped to Los Angeles, Nemeroff returned to Canada and recorded the album over two nights at The Ossington in Toronto this past December.

"I love and miss the Toronto comedy scene a lot and knew it was the only place I'd ever want to record my first album. L.A. and New York will always kind of reign since they have more opportunities, along with buzz-machines that relentlessly churn, but in terms of quality of comedy, Toronto's my number one," says Nemeroff.

"Plus it meant I got to have my hilarious friends Sam Burns, Gavin Pounds, Natalie Norman, Everardo Ramirez, Selby Nixon, and Brandon Ash-Mohammed on the shows, which was important."

From the opening moments of the album, Nemeroff delivers his unmistakable comedy to an eager audience, who can't contain their laughter and nervous giggles.

For listeners, Nemeroff says he hopes "they'll laugh a lot and get my jokes stuck in their heads the same way I did when I listened to old Mitch Hedberg albums."

"I love stand up and jokes more than anything unfortunately and this album is the culmination of doing it every night for the past seven years. My biggest hope however is that they leave the album thinking I'm hot."

The Pursuit of Comedy Has Ruined My Life is available now on Spotify, iTunes and Bandcamp.
