Canadians can now buy marijuana directly from Shoppers Drug Mart instead of its cashier Tyler

In a move that is likely to revolutionize the marijuana-delivery industry in Canada, Shoppers Drug Mart has applied for a license to dispense marijuana, rather than having consumers simply acquire it from Shoppers cashier Tyler after he is done work.

TORONTO, ON—In a move that is likely to revolutionize the marijuana-delivery industry in Canada, Shoppers Drug Mart has applied for a license to dispense marijuana, rather than having consumers simply acquire it from Shoppers cashier Tyler after he is done work.

"Walking the extra twenty feet to the back of the store may be more of an investment of effort, it's true," said Janine Oakwood, a spokesperson for the pharmacy chain. "But we are confident it will ultimately provide Canadians with a stable source of medical-grade marijuana that Tyler alone cannot guarantee – though his reputation for quality product is well-established." Oakwood added, "We all know Tyler has good stuff. Nobody's denying that."

The benefits inherent in acquiring the license itself rather than simply having customers wait around for the end of Tyler's shift or asking him to take a quick break will be many, Oakwood assures.

"This sort of standardization will inevitably lead to a more consistent supply. It will also ensure more timely delivery of the product, as Tyler sometimes has to help clean up or re-arrange the shelves before he can get out of there and get you your bud."

"Due to Shoppers' size and presence in the marketplace, we will also be able to ensure that whatever the intended purchase amount, it can easily be filled, whereas you know how sometimes you go to Tyler and need a quarter and he only has an eighth for now, or something of that nature."

"Finally, our pharmacy desk will always be open, whereas it may be hard at times throughout the day to even find Tyler in the store," said Oakwood, though she went on to deny the oft-cited rumour that Shoppers has zero employees.
