Because News, Canada's funniest news quiz show hits TV screens this fall
A new TV adaptation of the CBC Radio show premieres October 18.
Because News, the weekly radio panel series hosted by Gavin Crawford since 2015, is set to become a TV series on CBC this October.
On Because News, Crawford quizzes comedians and celebrities about the headlines. They discuss "the breaking stories we cared about, the ones we didn't - but probably should've - and the ones that just left us feeling newsy-ated," according to the Because News show page.
The show has featured stars like Kim's Convenience's Jean Yoon and Andrew Phung, Baroness Von Sketch Show's Aurora Browne, and comedians like Aisha Brown and Candy Palmater.
"We modeled ourselves after all the BBC panel shows so it feels like a natural fit," says Gavin Crawford, adding that being on TV "allows people to really appreciate my sweet quarantine moustache."
You can watch the premiere at 7 p.m. (7:30 NT) on October 18 on CBC Television or stream online for free on CBC Gem.
"If you're fed up with your feed, we'll keep you laughing," assures Crawford. "Why? Because News."
