José Avelino Gilles Corbett Lourenço is a Toronto-based writer and filmmaker whose debut film, Young Werther, reimagines Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's classic novella The Sorrows of Young Werther as a modern-day rom-com. Lourenço sits down with Tom Power to talk about the film and why he thinks this 18th-century German tragedy is a universal story that we can still learn from today.
