Arts·STATE OF THE ARTS

Is it time to officially give up on the Grammy Awards?

On this week's State of the Arts, Amanda Parris and Peter Knegt get really mad about the award show that seems determined to get it wrong.

Every Monday, CBC Arts runs down the latest arts and culture news on State of the Arts, a live chat between our very own Amanda Parris and Peter Knegt (never fear, Romeo Candido fans — he'll be back next month).

For our latest edition, Amanda and Peter had a whole lot to say about last night's Grammy Awards — most of it not exactly nice. From men dominating the winners to odd choices on the part of the producers to Recording Academy president Neil Portnow's very questionable statement this morning, both of our hosts aren't so sure they're ever willing to watch again.

However, on a happier note, they also get into a bunch of over-the-top television shows that there's no question they will be watching again, from American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace to RuPaul's Drag Race.

Feel free to add your take on the episode's audience question — what was the biggest mistake the Grammy Awards have ever made? — while you watch below:
