Design icon Karim Rashid remembers Expo 67
The prolific designer remembers the exposition that deeply affected him as a young boy
We caught up with award-winning designer Karim Rashid in November when he gave us his thoughts on the "loathsome kitsch" of Christmas.
In this video, produced by Sarah Keenlyside, we see part two of Rashid's interview with CBC Arts — and it's definitely a more nostalgic side of the designer as he reflects on his childhood experiences visiting Expo 67 — the "Universal and International Exposition" that took place in Montreal in 1967.
In honour of the Interior Design Show currently on in Toronto, here's the prolific designer's take on the utopian spirit of Expo 67 that fascinated and inspired him as a young boy.
Watch Exhibitionists Sunday at 4:30pm (5pm NT) on CBC Television.
